Last week, the Adaptive team had the pleasure of attending SSOW Europe 2026 in Lisbon, one of the most important events for the global Shared Services, GBS and business transformation community.
Over several intensive days, the conference brought together industry leaders, experts and practitioners to exchange perspectives on the future of operations, AI, procurement, transformation and leadership. Beyond the presentations and discussions, the event created countless opportunities for networking, collaboration and meaningful conversations with professionals from across the globe.
This year, Adaptive Solutions & Advisory Group participated in the event together with our partners from Invest in Łódź. At our shared booth, we created a dedicated Wine Talks Corner, a relaxed networking space designed for conversations about the future of GBS, SSC, AI, business transformation and the growing potential of Łódź as a business destination. Throughout the conference, the Wine Talks Corner became a place for insightful discussions, exchanging experiences and building new relationships in a more informal atmosphere.
For Adaptive, this year’s edition was especially valuable not only because of the many inspiring meetings and discussions at our booth, but also thanks to the active participation of our experts in the conference agenda.
One of the highlights of the week was the panel moderated by Krystian Bestry, President & CEO of Adaptive Solutions & Advisory Group, titled “Beyond Cost Control: Roles, Boundaries, and Modern Operating Model for Procurement GBS.” Together with Radu Bailau from AMMEGA and Alexandre Pinheiro from Webasto Group, the discussion explored how Procurement GBS functions are evolving far beyond traditional cost-saving responsibilities. The session focused on ownership of end-to-end Source-to-Pay processes, aligning procurement strategy with broader business goals, governance models supporting enterprise value delivery, and KPIs measuring business impact rather than only savings. The conversation highlighted how modern procurement organisations are increasingly expected to act as strategic business partners driving operational value and organisational growth.
Another important contribution came from Robert Godziszewski, Executive Business Director at Adaptive Solutions & Advisory Group, who together with Paweł Płocki, Managing Director of GBS Europe at TRUMPF, led the session “Embrace Your Journey Towards an AI-Empowered Organisation.” The discussion addressed one of the most important challenges currently facing GBS organisations, how to move from AI experimentation to scalable and sustainable transformation. The speakers focused on the practical side of building AI-ready organisations, including governance, operating models, leadership mindset, process ownership and capability development. The session sparked valuable conversations around how AI can become an integral part of organisational evolution rather than simply another technology initiative.
We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth, attended our sessions, joined our meetings and spent time with us throughout the conference. Your openness, energy and willingness to exchange ideas made this year’s edition truly memorable.
We are returning from Lisbon inspired, motivated and full of new ideas and already looking forward to next year’s SSOW Europe!
