We gathered yesterday in Kraków at QVC Group Global Business Services to discuss Stakeholder Management. A big thank you to Sylwester Wisniewski for the warm hospitality!
Together, we explored critical questions such as: How to manage internal corporate stakeholders effectively? Does the GBS Head/Center Head know how to “sell” GBS processes within the enterprise? How can GBS be a vital player in global corporate projects?
What are the main insights coming from the discussion?
– Understanding Stakeholder Perspectives – Collaboration thrives when stakeholders bring diverse experiences. Speaking the language of business, not just GBS goals, is key.
– Building Trust and Authority – Stakeholders often fear losing control. Trust is earned through consistent delivery, credibility, and demonstrating clear value.
– Two-Way Strategy – Effective stakeholder management is a mutual effort. Genuine engagement happens when both sides actively contribute to the dialogue.
– Natural Ambassadors – Internal champions who have experienced GBS’s value can help break resistance and advocate for broader collaboration.
– Flexible Approach – A personalized engagement strategy works better than a one-size-fits-all approach.
– Proximity to Business – Embedding GBS within the organization’s core fosters stronger relationships and smoother talent mobility.
– Storytelling – Compellingly narrating GBS successes strengthens credibility and drives stakeholder buy-in.
GBS’s success in Stakeholder Management hinges on trust, credibility, adaptability, and strategic communication. Building strong relationships, leveraging internal advocates, and aligning with business priorities are key to long-term impact.
Today, thanks to Wojciech Karpinski we had the chance to visit Amway ESAN center in Kraków, where we learned about their capabilities and success stories. Thank you for hosting us!
The GBS Masters meeting by Adaptive Solutions & Advisory Group focuses on a single, relevant topic for GBS/SSC managers, with an emphasis on sharing experiences and case studies in a small, carefully selected group of participants.
These participants represent various business sectors and maturity levels to ensure value for all. Thank you all for being with us and for a vital and friendly discussion led by Michal Bielawski!
