First meeting with GBS Lions in 2023!
This time we discussed how supply chain, controlling and human resources can be a standard in industry. Benchmarks, good practices and expert’s hints – is there any potential in new verticals? Our speakers from the mature organizations, starting with Imperial Brands: Bartłomiej Smoczyński, then AstraZeneca: Beata Purzycka, Konrad Hałas, Bartosz Boczkowski, ending with JTI: Magdalena Walerska, Karol Janiszek and Joël Cociani tried to answer this question.
We have a few key takeaways from presentations of our fantastic contributors:
- For Supply Chain it is crucial to avoid the wide scope transitions in favor of growing the scope in small steps. SC is very complex, containing various processes such as: Material Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Management, etc.; however, in each of them GBS can be involved and handle the activities.
- For effective Controlling process in GBS environment it is a must to strive for high level of process standardization, where key success criteria are to have CFO or Vice President pushing for it.
- Human-Centric Organization is the one which can predict the needs and requests of employees and has the standardized processes and tools prepared for a self-service approach or a prompt query resolution.
