A big thank you to everyone who joined our latest GBS Lions’ Talks by Adaptive webinar and, most importantly, to our highly engaged audience for the great questions, discussions and exchange of experiences.
A special thank you to our speakers Robert Godziszewski, Bartosz Budzewski and Paweł Płocki for sharing practical insights on what it really takes to move AI from pilots and experiments into scalable business value.
A few key takeaways for GBS/SSC leaders:
• Start with business value, not technology – define the problem, expected outcome and success metrics before choosing the AI solution.
• The real challenge is moving from pilots to scale – a successful prototype or hackathon is only the beginning; the real value comes from implementation, integration and adoption.
• AI transformation starts with people – AI literacy, change management, problem-solving and process knowledge are just as important as technology.
• Build strong AI Champion networks – empower people who can connect business needs with technology, support experimentation and accelerate adoption across the organisation.
• Create a safe space to experiment – combine freedom to innovate with clear governance, controlled access and accountability.
• Governance should enable, not block innovation – the goal is to make experimentation safe, not unnecessarily difficult.
• Choose the right model for the task – the most powerful or expensive model is not always the best one. Quality, complexity, performance and cost all matter.
• Redesign processes, don’t just automate them – AI creates the greatest opportunity when we rethink how work is done end-to-end.
• Measure outcomes, not activity – licenses, prompts and hackathons show adoption; productivity, quality, cost, cycle time and business impact show value.
• Combine central governance with local innovation — successful AI adoption needs common standards and guardrails, while giving teams enough autonomy to experiment and innovate.
One message stood out particularly strongly: AI transformation is not about giving people AI tools – it is about redesigning how the organization works.
