Time to summarize the first half of 2018. A lot of interesting events, inspiring conferences and thought-provoking discussions. Adaptive Group team has been on the road during past six months broadening and sharing its knowledge with other experts.
JANUARY
Adaptive Group started January as a partner of the “BUSINESS MIXER of MBA Graduates/Students” which was on the 11th of January.
Later, the BSS Forum in Gdynia took place under the title “Rock your business”. The BSS Forum is an annual conference organized by Pro Progressio. The main goal of the Forum is to discuss current trends, challenges and opportunities which the Business Support Services sector is facing nowadays.
Krystian Bestry, CEO & President Adaptive Group and Michał Bielawski, VP & CFO Adaptive Group represented our company as the Subject Matter Experts.
Krystian took part in the “Transformation – drive wheel of innovation in BPO/SSC/GBS and CoE centers” discussion panel and Michał in the “SLA/KPI – what, how and when to measure. What operational benefits are given by well-defined measures?” panel.

Apart from the business events, in January Adaptive Group was shortlisted for the final of the 6th CEE Shared Services & Outsourcing Awards. It has been already 3rd time in a row, where world-class achievements, professional approach and great client references have been appreciated by 32 international Jury Members with the nomination for the award in the category of General & Location Advisory.

FEBRUARY
In February, there were several occasions to celebrate. First of all, Krystian Bestry was named as the 2017 Business Tiger. The list of Business Tigers is a part of the Annual Report prepared by Pro Progressio. The foundation awards those managers who have a significant impact on the BSS industry growth in Poland.
Secondly, Adaptive Group has completed 3 years on the market. It has been a very productive and fruitful time and we hope that next years are going to be as inspiring as the previous ones.

Thirdly, Michał Bielawski represented our company in the study published by Antal– specialists in the talent search and selection industry helping businesses all around the world to find the employees that they are looking for.
Michał gave comments on the future of Poland’s investments which you can read in the “Company Investment Plans in 2017” study and subsequent studies about particular cities e.g. Lodz, Poznan, Tricity, Wroclaw. The aim of the survey was to “provide an in-depth look at the Polish market from the perspective of businesses and outline the most important company growth trends”.

MARCH
March was a truly intensive month. On the 1st of March, our experts had a workshop about design thinking and elements of biodesign organized by Magdalena Wrzesińska and Karolina Czarnecka (Medical University of Lodz).
The aim of the meeting was to create innovative solutions for the migration of accounting tasks from various countries to Poland. We discussed the reasons standing behind such operation and how does it affect not only the client but also the end-user.

One week after, Michał Bielawski and Michał Ejchman, Program Manager, Senior Consultant Adaptive Group, conducted a workshop about the methodology and tools used in project management for Lodz Agency of Regional Development. Adaptive Group is in cooperation with the agency and one of the parts of it are workshops.
On the 9th of March, Business Mixer- Borusia Dortmund took place and Adaptive Group was a Supporting Partner. Justyna Szklarczyk, Program Manager, Senior Consultant Adaptive Group, represented our company and talked about our history in the area of advisory & consulting.
In the middle of the month, the industry witnessed VII Smart City Forum. As the name suggests, the congress touched upon the topic of smart cities and Adaptive Group was present during the event in the person of Michał Bielawski.
In March, Adaptive Group team had the pleasure to visit the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition at EC1 hosted for us by Lodz City Mayor Mrs. Hanna Zdanowska. The event concluded with delicious lunch together.

One cannot discuss March 2018 without mentioning HR Genius Congress. Main topics included multigenerational and multicultural teams, optimal talent management and new trends in management. Michał Bielawski took part in the “Wyzwania HR w branży BPO/SSC” discussion panel as a Subject Matter Expert.
At that time, we also decided to extend our team. In order to find new Adaptive employees, Michał Ejchman and Katarzyna Przymińska, Junior Consultant Adaptive Group, went to Dni Kariery (Career Days) at the University of Lodz. They discussed career opportunities with potential candidates and promoted our company among students.
March ended up with two big events. The first one was connected with… cooking. On the 28th, we had cooking workshops with Ewelina Brodnicka (pichconko.pl). We had a lot of fun and delicious food (Thai and Canarian cuisine).

However, the second event was bigger- Adaptive Group has signed partnership with Shared Services Outsourcing Network– largest and most recognized community of shared services and outsourcing professionals in the world. As the result of the agreement, our company is going to be the only expert for GBS Transitions and Work-life Balance themes during flagship conferences organized by SSON in 2018 and 2019.
The cooperation starts from 12th Annual European Shared Services & Outsourcing Week planned 11-13th of September in Vilnius, where we will be conducting series of workshops and knowledge sharing sessions together with our clients. On our fanpage and LinkedIn you could discover the topics which are going to be the main focus.
APRIL
April started with a trip abroad- Joanna Wilczyńska, Program Manager, Senior Consultant Adaptive Group, and Michał Bielawski went to ITO & BPO Germany Forum in Berlin. The conference circled around four main topics: guide to automation, people & strategies, management & changes, status quo & future outlook.

In April, we continued searching for new Adaptive Group experts. Irmina Liczbik, Marketing Specialist and Content Manager, and Michał Ejchman went to Recruitment Days organized by University of Lodz and talked with potential candidates.
On the 18th of April, Puls Biznesu organized a conference entitled “Centra Usług Wspólnych” (“Shared Service Centers”) which took place in Warsaw. Krystian Bestry represented our company and gave a presentation. He discussed the topics related to relation management in shared service centers i.e. what should one do to make sure that the cooperation is going to be a success not only when it comes to documents and strategy, but also as far as human relations are concerned.

As you could notice some time ago, our specialists have various interests, for example, Michał Bielawski is a fan of running and in April he ran in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid Marathon. It cost him a lot of hard work and physical effort but when you look at the photos- you know it was worth it.

On the 23rd of April, Krystian Bestry went to Katowice for “Katowice. The place to grow. Metropolis GZM – evolution engine of the region” conference. Did you know that the presentation used by the Presidents of Katowice was made by one of our Project Managers Paulina Kukuła?

The end of the month was closed by Adaptive Group strategy session. We gathered together for strategic meeting to discuss our ongoing projects and summarize year 2017. We also had brainstorming about our current mission, strategy and values combined with… good wine and sushi. Perfect end of April.

MAY
May started with a dose of sun- Michał Bielawski went to Lisbon in Portugal for the 18th Annual European Shared Services & Outsourcing Week organized by Shared Sevices & Outsourcing Network. One of the biggest events with experts from around the world.

When Michał was in Lisbon, Krystian Bestry visited Kraków where Brave New World- ASPIRE Industry Summit 2018 took place. During the conference, the participants discussed the potential impacts of the digital revolution on our life, politics economics, industry verticals and business.

The second half of May abounded in three major events. Firstly, Michał Bielawski was a Subject Matter expert in “The impact of the automation of financial processes on the labor market” discussion panel during Credit Risk conference in Kraków.

Then, we introduced newcomers in Adaptive Group. Our team extended with several experts: Aleksandra Pudlarz as a F&A Consultant, Robert Godziszewski as a Program Manager, Agata Opłatowska as a F&A/HR Consultant, Irmina Liczbik as a Marketing Specialist & Content Manager and junior consultants: Liliya Artym, Galyna Biletska, Agnieszka Gałązka, Anastasia Kotvytska, Szymon Litman, Aleksandra Owczarek, Ana Ubović and Antoni Wilkiel.

At the end of the month, we decided to have a strategic session… on the beach. As the Adaptive Group team we went to the sea and spend several days in Jastarnia.

JUNE
In June, the industry witnessed one of the biggest events of the year- ABSL conference. The title of the 9th edition was “Poland. The place to grow”. Our team for the conference consisted of:

The ABSL was a huge success touching upon the topics connected with business & markets, people and technology.

After a short break, Michał Bielawski and Robert Godziszewski travelled again, this time to Kraków for BPO New Solutions conference.

In the middle of June, Adaptive Group engaged in BSS Tour Katowice where Michał Bielawski was one of the Subject Matter Experts during the “Back Office Technology” discussion panel. It was a heated and in-depth debate.

In June, we also have started our employee promotion campaign. It is high time for our specialists to be in the spotlight and show their true potential. As a result, during this month you could read first interview with our expert, Robert Godziszewski. We talked about his work, passions and motivation. Very interesting and sincere conversation about work in the advisory and consulting area. June could not have ended up better.

All in all, the first half of 2018 was a very intensive time with a lot of interesting meetings and worth being events. Past six months were as intensive as they could and now, during summer, Adaptive Group team is going to have calmer period. At least, when it comes to the advisory and consulting conferences… We do have plans for summer but for now, let us keep it a secret.
