Thank You for Joining the GBS Lions’ Talks in Kraków!
Yesterday’s GBS Lions’ Talks in Kraków was a remarkable experience, and we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us for this engaging and insightful session. The event took place at the Sappi Center of Process Excellence office, which provided the perfect setting for in‑depth conversations, knowledge exchange, and networking among GBS professionals from across the country. What made this edition truly special was the diversity of the audience. Participants travelled not only from Kraków but from various regions of Poland, demonstrating the growing interest in the GBS Lions’ Talks series and the strong community forming around it.
We were privileged to host a lineup of speakers who delivered thought‑provoking presentations, each bringing a unique angle to the rapidly evolving world of AI and process excellence.
Robert Godziszewski
Executive Business Director, Adaptive Solutions & Advisory Group
Robert set the stage by highlighting the importance of strong process foundations and well‑defined ownership structures in building a successful, modern GBS organization. His perspective emphasized that advanced technologies—AI included—can only deliver sustainable value when supported by clear accountability and a mature process landscape.
Michał Krauze
Onwelo
Michał brought a practical lens to the conversation, sharing his experience in transforming digital strategies into meaningful operational results. His talk resonated strongly with attendees eager to move from theoretical discussions about automation to real, measurable outcomes. He showcased examples of how technology‑driven initiatives can reshape day‑to‑day operations and deliver efficiency at scale.
Wojciech Bazarnik
Sappi Europe
As RPA Lead at Sappi Europe, Wojciech provided an insider’s view into how automation directly supports finance and operational teams. His presentation focused on real-life use cases and gave participants an understanding of how organizations like Sappi turn automation concepts into solutions embedded in business processes—delivering faster workflows, higher accuracy, and reduced workloads for employees.
Key-takeaways from the event:
- Your employees are your biggest AI security risk – 75% of Shadow AI users share sensitive corporate data with unapproved tools, and most organizations have zero governance in place. The Arup deepfake fraud ($25M lost in a single video call) and the Mexico government breach (195M records stolen using AI) are no longer edge cases. They’re the new normal.
- Your next prototype is closer than you think – Sappi replaced a €50k vendor solution with a custom-built ML sentiment engine in ~50 hours of work, using nothing but structured prompting. The real unlock wasn’t technical. It was removing the cost barrier – and watching stakeholder language shift from “we can’t afford this” to “can we add more features?”
- Cybersecurity is a CFO conversation, not an IT one – average breach cost is $4.44M, recovery takes over 150 days for half of organizations, and 65% never fully recover. But organizations that deploy AI in their security operations cut breach costs by nearly $1.9M on average. The math is clear.
One of the most rewarding parts of every GBS Lions’ Talks is the energy and openness of our participants. The audience was highly engaged—asking questions, sharing experiences, and offering perspectives from various sectors and regions of Poland.Events like this prove that the GBS community is not only expanding but also becoming more collaborative, curious, and eager to push the boundaries of what modern business services can achieve.
We’re excited to keep the momentum going! The next GBS Lions’ Talks is already in the works—and while we’re not revealing the location just yet, we can say this much: Wrocław? Poznań? Or maybe Gdańsk? Stay tuned, because an announcement is coming soon, and we can’t wait to meet you again in another inspiring city.Thank you once again for your participation and enthusiasm. Let’s continue building a strong, knowledge-driven GBS community together!
